Corcovado is mountain which is located in central Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Corcovado means hunch back in Portuguese. It is a sharp rock peak contains 2,310 feet, around 704 meters. It is a part of the Carioca range. It’s named hunchback because of its shape. The imposing statue on its narrow summit towers of Christ the Redeemer which contains 98 feet around 30 meters tall. The statue of the Jesus is at top of the peek.
It is visible from great distances. The peak and statue can be accessed by a narrow road or by the 3.8 kilometer. In the year 1884 the Corcovado Rack Railway was opened and refurbished in the year 1980. This railway used three electrically power trains which contains the passenger capacity of 540 per hour. It takes approximately twenty minutes and departs you in the twenty minutes. From the train, road it can be easily accessed towards the statue which is commonly crowded.

visit per year. From the peak platform you can see many different things
like down town Rio, the Lagos Rodrigo de Frietes which is the
lake, Sugarloaf mountain, Copacabana and ipanema beaches, Marcana stadium
and many of the Rio favels but when cloud covers the Rio so to view
this platform, it is totally not possible, it’s totally hidden.
Sunny days are recommended for viewing this mountain. It will be a good
choice to view this. Famous past visitors to this mountain peak include,
Pope John Paul II, Pope Pius XII, German Sueiro Vasquez, Alberto Santos
Dumont, Albert Einstein, Princess of Wales and Diana. Another attraction
of this mountain is rock climbing. AS of the year 1992, the south face
