If we call Rio de Janeiro a sports city then its would not be wrong, as the 2014 Fifa World cup football final and 2016 summer Olympics games will held in the city. The city also will host the world youth day in 2013. It is the second largest city in Brazil and third largest metropolitan area in South America.
Rio de Janeiro is the most visited city in South America and is famous for its natural settings, carnival celebrations, samba, Bossa Nova, balneario beaches such as Barra da Tijuca, Copacabana, Ipanema, and Leblon. Some of the most famous landmarks in addition to the beaches include the giant statue of Christ the Redeemer ('Cristo Redentor') atop Corcovado mountain, named one of the New Seven Wonders of the World; Sugarloaf mountain with its cable car; the Sambódromo, a permanent grandstand-lined parade avenue which is used during Carnival; and Maracanã Stadium, one of the world's largest football stadiums.
The people are very friendly and the environment in here is best for tourism. There is just need to make plan for summer vacation or you can book your tickets for the upcoming mega events. If you have plan to come this wonderful place then my suggestion don't miss the carnival. This carnival really represent the local culture and lifestyle of the people of the Brazil.
