London is the capital and largest city of England, that's is not largest city in only in United kingdom but it is also largest in western Europe and the Europe Union. It is located on the River Thames in United Kingdom. The London has very little population about 8 million. London remains an international capital of culture, fashion, music, politics, education, finance and trade. Greater London consists of 32 London boroughs and the City of London that, together with the office of the Mayor of London, form the basis for London's local government. The Mayor of London is elected by London residents and should not be confused with the Lord Mayor of the City of London.

 

Olympic games 2012

The International Olympic Committee decided in 2005 that London will serve as the host city for the Games of the XXX Olympiad, the Summer Olympic Games of 2012. This will make London the first city to hold the Olympic Games three times, having hosted the games previously in 1908 and 1948. The vast majority of events will be held in a regenerated area in East London.
