Golden Pavilion or Kinkakuji is a Zen Temple in northern Kyoto which has top two floors that covered by gold leaf. Actually this temple is a villa of the shogun Ashikaga Yoshimitsu. The Golden pavilion is an impressive temple and structured built overlooking a large pond. In fact, it is the only building left of Yoshimitsu former retirement complex. Based on the story, the Golden Pavilion had burned down numerous times until finally it rebuilt for the present structure in 1955.
According to its location which is surrounding by lake and forest, Golden Pavilion looks very shade and comfortable if you ger there. The lake is very calm and the trees behind seems so green so that make the nuace of Golden Pavilion perfectly good to relaxing mind.
The golden Pavilion is open from 9am to 5pm. to get there, you can only take bus with number 101 or 205 from Kyoto station. Then after exploring Golden Pavilion and see the statues and magnificent gold leaf, here visitor will pass the head priest’s living quarter. Just like another Japan traditional home style, it also using painted sliding doors. But unfortunately this place is not open for public. But there still another wonderful sight that may attract you more. It is a garden called Sekkatei Tea-house. A sweet tea can you try with price 500 yen per cup. The combination between a warn tea and fresh atmosphere of the green environment, absolutely make visitor always happy and never think to leave that place.

Pillars there is made from natural wood and completed with white plaster walls. Statues of the Shaka Budha and yoshimitsu are stored also in this floor.
