Tiananmen Square  A large public square in Beijing, China is Tiananmen Square after the Tiananmen Gate which is situated in North, separating from the Forbidden City. In the world it is the third largest city square about 880m by 500m. This square has great cultural significance and in Chinese history, this site has several important events. Farther from the China this is best known for the focal point of the Tiananmen Square protests of the year 1989, which was a pro democracy movement which was ended on 4 June 1989 along the announcement of martial law in Beijing by the government because of the death of several hundred or thousands of citizens.

The Tiananmen gate was built in the year 1415 during the Ming dynasty but due to the heavy fight between Li Zicheng and the early Qing emperors, the gate was destroyed. Then in the year 1651 the it was designed and built and since it has enlarged four times its original size in the 1950s. A major expansion of Tiananmen Square started which was completed in the 11 months.

 Since its creation it is use for the meeting place. It lies between two massive gates, the Zhengyangmen, which is better known for the Qianmen to the South and the Tiananmen to the north ,its west side of the square it has a great hall for the people and on the east side it contains the national museum of China which is dedicated to the Chinese history. Chang’an Avenue which lies between the Tiananmen and the square, it is used for parades and the trees lines the east and west edges.

 This site is best for the student protests and a number of the political events. The most important event is protests during the May Fourth Movement in the year 1919. After the death of Zhou Enlai, it's protests in the year 1976 and in the year 1989 the Tiananmen Square protests which were result of the military suppression and the death of multiple protestors.  There are many other important events which were remembered in the Chinese history.
